Staff Feature: Brecia Eubank
Welcome back to the RISE Report! Each month we will do staff or student features! This month we are talking to our fearless leader, Ms Brecia!
How many years have you been teaching dance? 13 wonderful, long, challenging, beautiful years. I started teaching at 16, and I got so lucky to have found my passion at a young age.
What is your favorite dance style? I love teaching contemporary and jazz!
What’s a typical Saturday night like for you? It’s somewhere between catching a concert or binge watching TV with my husband.
What is your dream vacation? Greece or China. Very different!
What can you cook to perfection? I like to call it Magical Cake, it’s a blueberry cream cheese pound cake. I’ll give you the recipe if you like!
What inspires you? My husband and my students!
How long would you survive a zombie apocalypse? Why? I am not good at fighting or running, so I am gonna say that I would probably be one of the first ones to go. It is what it is.
If you could grow up in any decade, which would you choose? I have always been fascinated by the Victorian era, minus the women’s oppression. Ha! The way that women dressed was so elegant and beautiful, and now a days fashion is so…well not elegant.
What song do you know all the lyrics to? Money Maker by Ludacris or Take It Off by Kesha
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share? Every BODY is created different and unique. Every single person has their own strengths and weaknesses. Embrace what makes you different. Start making healthy choices now, so it won’t be hard to make healthy choices when you are older. Honor your bodies and the gift of dance!
Can you think of any other questions you want to ask Ms Brecia? Let us know!
See you next week!
