Staff Spotlight: Caleb Summers

Our next staff spotlight is on the awesome Mr. Caleb! We are so pumped to have his excitement about dance and expertise in Musical Theater as a contributing part of our studio. He will be teaching ballet and contemporary for us this year, and we are so excited to have him.

What is your background in dance?  What expertise to you bring to RISE?

I have a lot of background under my belt such as ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and musical theatre I can provide a positive and professional setting allowing comfortability, freedom of expression, and growth for the students. I can also bring new styles to the table such as Voguing and Horton. 

How many years have you been dancing/teaching dance?

I’ve been dancing for about 10 years now and teaching for about 2 years.

What is your favorite dance style?

It would have to be jazz.

What’s a typical Saturday night like for you?

My couch, Greys Anatomy, and Merlot.

What is your dream vacation? 

The Philippines and the islands in Thailand are my next vacation destinations!

What can you cook to perfection? 

Marinated Honey Lemon Chicken

What inspires you? 

Seeing other people being inspired or seeing someone just as or more passionate about something as I am. Also, collaboration with people that click.

How long would you survive a zombie apocalypse? Why?

With my knowledge of The Walking Dead I think I would last a couple of years!

If you could grow up in any decade, which would you choose? 

The 80s would’ve been a groovy time!

What are five adjectives that you would use to describe yourself?

Passionate, Fun, Loud, Excitable, and Positive 

Do you have any hidden or weird talents?

I’m double jointed in my shoulders and that tends to freak people out.

What are some pets you’ve had or would like to own?

I’ve had a medium sized Chihuahua mixed named Skip and would love to own a miniature yorkie!
